Social events are open to all first-year students and help build social connections that last a lifetime. Take a plunge into our dynamic, warm, and welcoming Conestoga community! Events may take place online or in person. Times vary. Optional for all first-year students.

Mature Student Welcome

Tuesday, August 20, 5-6:30 p.m., ET

Join us virtually to learn about the key resources that will help you transition to life as a mature student at Conestoga. You'll also hear from other mature students about how you can strike a balance between your academics, college life, and home priorities!

Mature students include students out of the school system for more than five years, students who are parents or caregivers, and students returning to school for second careers.

Indigenous students

Indigenous 101 (First Nations, Métis, Inuit Students) Zoom Session

Thursday, September 5, 12 - 1 p.m., ET

Are you a First Nations, Métis or Inuit student who is looking to learn more about the services and supports provided to you? Attend our session to meet staff and find out about important services that we offer to help you on your post-secondary journey.

Participants will be entered into a draw for a raffle prize that includes Indigenous Services and Student Engagement SWAG.

​Kick-off Fest offers a variety of sights and sounds to entice the largest gathering of students possible! It includes a fantastic lineup of musical artists, food for purchase, a resource fair, engaging activities, and Instagram-worthy content! African, Black, and Caribbean (ABC) Welcome Night

Friday, September 20, 5-7 p.m., Kitchener - Doon campus, Room 1B18

Student Engagement invites you to our African, Black, and Caribbean (ABC) Welcome Night. This event is an opportunity for new and old ABC-identifying students to network with Faculty, staff, and some community members and organizations. There will also be delicious African Caribbean food.

Queer Kickoff - Virtual Drag Bingo

Wednesday, Sept. 25, 5-7 p.m., Online Zoom session

Kick off the term with our 2SLGBTQIA+ community! We'll connect virtually over games, bingo, and drag! Meet queer peers, staff, and community members at the event. Join the session to learn about resources, upcoming events, and queer support that all students have access to.

  • Opening remarks and raffle prizes from 5-5:20
  • Drag bingo begins at 5:30 p.m. Be entertained and win prizes!

Open to all 2SLGBTQIA+ students and allies.
